SUMMARY:Artist Workshop with Ruby Merritt – Upcycled Journals with Galler
 y Haiku
DESCRIPTION: \n\nSIGN UP HERE\nCreate a pamphlet stitch journal using coll
ected papers\, then compose haikus and poems inspired by the exhibition\,
 Parallel Paths. \n\nUpcycled Journals Workshop\n\nArtist-Led • Beebe’
 s at the Gallery\nSaturday\, December 6\, 2025\n12–2 pm\nSuggested Donat
ion \n\nJoin us inside Beebe’s at the Gallery for a special artist-led
workshop inspired by the exhibition\, Parallel Paths\, currently on view.
Surrounded by Ruby Merritt's work\, she shares her skills in teaching and
mixed media arts to create your own unique book from recycled scraps\, pro
bably from the WNY Book Arts Center\, where she also shows people how to m
ake paper.\n\nIt will be a very unique\, and given her character\, promisi
ngly entertaining event. The workshop is in tandem with her current exhibi
tion on view with Cindi O'Mara\, which celebrates the transformative relat
ionship between a teacher and a student\, now artistic peers\, showcasing
their works side by side. Parallel Paths unfold a narrative of growth\, gu
idance\, and mutual inspiration\, where the bond of mentorship has shaped
their artistic journeys and their vocations for art education.\n\nCindi O
’Mara and Ruby Merritt echo one another in their investigations of abstr
acted landscapes and close-up textures that mirror and mimic nature’s pa
tterns. Their palettes lean toward earthy tones\, enlivened by iridescence
and bursts of chroma\, expressing reverence for the environment’s aesth
etic wonder. Merritt often turns toward the unseen—ecosystems and micro-
environments hidden from the naked eye—rendered through dense compositio
ns and intricate mark-making. O’Mara complements this with an intuitive\
, flowing style and layered linework that embody renewal\, balance\, and c
lose observation.\n\nTogether\, their artworks create a seamless dialogue\
, highlighting both the individuality of their voices and the influence th
ey’ve shared along their creative journeys.\n\nOn view through January 9
 \, 2026.\n\nUp next: Cindi O'Mara's workshop\, "Ephemeral Flower Paintings
 \," on December 20.\nLet Ruby know you're coming...\n\nSIGN UP HERE\n[embe
